“A Time To Give” – An Annual Charity Programme by G Hotel Penang

18 December 2019 – G Hotel Penang has officially launched its annual “A
Time To Give” charity programme. “A Time To Give” is a yearly Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by G Hotel Penang since 2008, which has benefited various homes and NGOs over the years. This year, the charity programme will benefit The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home by granting simple wishes of the children and it is open for the public to participate in this programme.

23 children from the Salvation Army Home sent in their wishes to the hotel which were then written on individual wish cards. Each wish card includes the name, age, gender and wishes of each child from the Home. All wish cards were hung on the Christmas tree in the lobby for the public to pick a wish card of their choice and purchase the gifts for the child from 28 November to 16 December 2019.

Most of the wishes from the children were daily necessities such as clothes, shoes, storybooks, pen drive, stationery sets and toiletries. As soon as the program was launched, many were seen selecting the wish cards from the Christmas tree to donate and contribute to the program. Due to the overwhelming response from the public and donors, G Hotel has added 5
more wishes for each child. A total of 161 wish cards have been given away with 7 gifts for each child.

On 18 December 2019, 23 children from The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home were invited to G Hotel to receive and unwrap the presents. The children celebrated this joyous day in G Hotel Gurney lobby with associates and guests from G Hotel, as well as donors who
contributed to the CSR programme.

The General Manager of G Hotel, Mr Michael Hanratty officiated the event with a welcome speech, followed by a wonderful Christmas dance & carolling performance by the children. The children were then seen unwrapping the presents by the Christmas tree. Their faces were all lit up with excitement, grinning from ear to ear when they see their wishes that
they made come true.

Many people from all walks of life have returned every single year to support the cause and contribute back to the community. another successful one”, said Michael Hanratty, General Manager of G Hotel.

‘A Time to Give’ has once again successfully touched the hearts of the public to give back to the community in this season of giving, blessed many young souls and putting a smile on the faces of the children.
